New Ways to Have Fun on the Snow
Ascutney Learning Center focuses on the fun and many
positives of skiing and snowboarding for all ages
"Family Bonus Plan" Includes FREE Full-Day Children's Programs
New for the 2002-2003 winter season is the inclusion of a full-day session in Ascutney's highly acclaimed Flying D.U.C.K.S. childcare (ages six months and up), Mini Olympians (ages 4-6) or Young Olympians (ages 7-12) skiing programs for one child per paid adult every day on all non-holiday Ascutney Advantage packages of four nights or more. According to Ascutney's Marketing Director Jon Hall, "This addition can save as much as $160 a day for a family of four. It also ensures that children are introduced to the sport properly in professional programs with kids of their own age and ability levels."
Ducklings Childcare
Children six months and older will participate in games, arts and crafts and other activities in an atmosphere of fun and discovery. $50 for half day, and $65 for full day, including lunch.
Flying D.U.C.K.S. Childcare & Skiing Introduction
For children ages 3 to 6 this program retains all the features of Ducklings Childcare but also includes a skiing orientation each session. Participants will become familiar with equipment and begin their introduction to snow on the gentle slopes of D.U.C.K. Soup. $60 for half day, $80 for full day, including lunch.
Mini Olympians
Tailored to children ages 4 to 6, this highly successful program is for all ability level skiers. Kids learn to ski in a fun, supportive atmosphere guided by our enthusiastic children's program staff. $55 for half day, $80 for full day, including lunch.
Young Olympians
This widely acclaimed program for youngsters ages 7 to 12 is for all ability level skiers and snowboarders. It provides a significant amount of on-mountain instruction and discovery combined with the camaraderie of meeting other children of similar age and ability level. $55 for half day, $80 for full day including lunch.
Vertical Crew
New this year for skiers and riders ages 12-16, the "Vertical Crew" program provides the perfect opportunity for young skiers and riders to both "meet the mountain and each other" in this special two hour session offered from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM on Saturdays and daily during the Christmas/New Years, February Presidents and March Canadian Holiday Weeks to enthusiasts of intermediate or higher ability levels.
According to Chris Sailer, Director of Ascutney Learning Center, " This new program should be very well received. Guided by our professional staff, the emphasis will go beyond solely instruction and cover diverse terrain with lots of on-snow mileage. Teens can meet each other and really rip it up in a supervised environment. We've also extended this particular program to a full two hours to ensure we cover a lot of ground both on the mountain and in terms of improving their skills."
Slide, Glide & Ride Package
Ascutney has created a special beginner package for skiers and snowboarders, which includes a group lesson, lower mountain lift ticket and equipment rental for the day. Lessons are offered at 10 AM and 1 PM the package price is $65
"Take Three" Introduction to Skiing and Snowboarding Package Extension
An addition to Ascutney's popular "Slide, Glide, and Ride" Introduction To Skiing and Snowboarding package, the "Take Three" extension will provide first time skiers and riders the opportunity to return to the resort up to two additional times and receive a group lesson, complete equipment rental and a lower mountain lift ticket for 50% off the already deeply reduced $65.00 fee for the initial Slide, Glide and Ride package.
