Rippin' Rider Preview: Burton Snowdecks
Snowdecks are everywhere. Riders want them. Resorts have created Snowdeck parks. And a few resorts are even letting Snowdecks on the lifts.
Snowboarding + Skateboarding = Snowdeck. Snowdecks offer endless fun and possibilities in both mountain and urban settings. A Snowdeck's top deck is very similar to a skateboard, but instead of wheels, a Snowdeck has a subdeck that resembles a mini-snowboard. Just like a skateboard, a Snowdeck has trucks that connect the board to the subdeck. All you need is a little snow to ride a Snowdeck - no pricey lift tickets, bindings or boots required. Riders can do tricks on a Snowdeck they could never pull off on a snowboard.
The Burton Source Snowdeck is designed for riders who want a deck similar in size to a skateboard deck. Perfect for cross-over skaters and smaller riders, the Source is light and trick-worthy. When Burton Team rider Shaun White is sessioning on a Snowdeck, The Source is usually the deck he rides.
Top deck measures 7.5" x 32": Feels more like a skate.
Shorter subdeck: Better maneuverability.

Burton's latest in the series is the Link snowdeck, a sibling of the original Junkyard snowdeck. The new Slider Truck offers even more technical control for jibbing sessions and cruising control.
