Rippin' Rider Preview: Boeri Apollo Helmet
A lightweight helmet that offers a great fit and that is sturdy and strong is what Boeri Sport USA, the market leader in ski and snowboard helmets, brings to the mountain for kids in 2002. Apollo, a new injection molded helmet with an EPS (expanded polystyrene) liner, a "room to grow" feature, and sleek styling represents the evolution in helmet design for young skiers and riders.
"For a child to want to wear a helmet it has to have the right styling, and for mom's to buy a helmet it has to meet the highest standards of protection and quality," said Robyn Hasson, Marketing Director for Boeri Sport USA. "We believe that Apollo accomplishes both with its adherence to the ASTM and CE Standards, and it's innovative low profile design."
Boeri's Apollo incorporates a passive venting system, sturdy non-removable ear parts with improved hearing vents, is jaw piece compatible, and will be available in two shell sizes with four size ranges to choose from, starting at 50-51 cm and ranging up to 56-57 cm. Apollo's fit is modeled after the Boeri "Myto", which is labeled by retailers as the best fitting helmet on the market, so Apollo is a helmet with no gaps in sizing for children to fall into. A unique "room to grow" feature will allow the removal of a band inside the smaller sizes of each shell that will enable the helmet to be sized up to the next size range. Apollo is available in 5 injected colors and will come with sticker kits. MSRP $70.00.
