Beaver Creek, CO Lodging Review

Beaver Creek Village has abundant lodging choices. From the slopeside Hyatt Regency Beaver Creek to the brand spanking new Ritz Carlton at Bachelor Gulch, it's easy to be pampered and coddled. If you are looking for more of an independent experience, there are many condos to choose from.
A wonderful choice for families is The Charter at Beaver Creek. It gets you the lodge experience with the benefit of a condo. Located in the Village, The Charter has 156 lodge rooms and condos that range from one to five bedrooms.
We loved the condo setup. A spacious kitchen, fireplace, deck, and mountain furnishings made the unit inviting and very functional for families. Stock the fridge with breakfast items and après ski snacks and you've got smooth sailing (they even have a market shuttle to take you right to the grocery store in Avon). The Charter had a hotel feel with all of the benefits of a condo. Daily maid service, spacious lobby and in-house bar and restaurant exude "vacation".
We kept hearing The Charter had ski-in ski-out access. Couldn't quite figure it out on foot. We explored the premises, following the path in to the heart of the Village. It's a brisk ten-minute walk, or you can take the shuttle, which goes directly to the Children's Ski School building for easy morning access.
The ski-in part of the picture is a bit of an adventure. Once you find the little trail, it is a picturesque road (aptly named The Charter Skiway) that crosses the pedestrian village and delivers you right to the Charter's door. To ski-out, you can hop on your skis and access the Elkhorn lift via the Creekside Skiway. Fun stuff.
Other amenities include onsite sport shop (great for evening tunes), health club, spa (if only we had time!), city market shuttle, game room (videotape rental, air hockey, video games, table tennis), washers & dryers, child care (Mountain Sitters and Mountain Munchkins). Look for special rates and family packages.
Other family lodging worth checking out: Hyatt Regency Beaver Creek, The Inn at Beaver Creek, The Ritz Carlton at Bachelor Gulch (new kids center), and Elkhorn Lodge. There are also several properties in Avon and Edwards. Check Beavercreek.com for online booking.
