Kids love to roam Beaver Creek's pedestrian-only,
Europen-style village and ride covered escalators up
to the slopes. The resort's outdoor ice rink is the
centerpiece of the village, with an amateur skating
show scheduled each Monday night. Each Thursday,
kids and parents can participate in a glow-stick
ski-down followed by music and fireworks. Other
activities include special children's theatre
performances, kids' camps featuring rock climbing
and arts and crafts, a weekly dinner theatre for kids
and more.
On the mountain, kids love to explore the Black Bear
Cave, Gold Mine, Tombstone Territory, and special
kids-only trails and terrain parks.
For
Sanity's Sake: Beaver Creek is first and foremost a family resort.
From the pedestrian layout of the village to the
numerous family programs, the resort strives to make
both parents and kids happy.
On the mountain, kids' terrain is often found
alongside tougher terrain, allowing families of all
abilities to ski together. The village offers a variety of
elegant and casual dining. Should parents need a
night out alone, the resort offers evening child care
and Kids' Night Out, a special dinner theatre for kids
on select evenings.

Where
to Ski and Board: First stop: Adventure Zones. Warning: you won't be able to drag the kids out there!
Buckaroo Bowl:
Located just off the Haymeadow lift (no. 1), this terrain
park for beginners features introductory moguls and
spines.
Tombstone Territory:
Just to the east of Spruce Saddle* Lodge lies this
kids-only park with an old western town and
racecourse.
Bear Cave:
Kids go crazy over this life-size replica of a
black-bear cave tucked away near the top of Rose
Bowl along Cinch.
Gold Mine:
Kids can ski through an old western gold mine,
complete with fools gold to take home; located at the
top of Gold Dust.
Tree Trails:
Designed for kids and located in Beaver Creek,
Bachelor Gulch and Arrowhead, tree trails provide an adventure for the whole family.
Special
Programs: SKE-COLOGY is a environmental education
program is designed for children's ski and
snowboard classes, and teaches kids about the
winter mountain environment, animal behavior and
surrounding flora
Beaver Creek Children's Ski and Snowboard Center
is open daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is a
one-stop-shop for kids' lessons, rentals and ski

Care: Small World Play School is a full-service nursery
located in Beaver Creek Village, offering a wide
range of indoor and outdoor activities. It's open to non-skiing children 2 months to 5 years old. Hours: 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. daily. Pagers available to contact parents should
the need arise. Reservations are required. Openings fill quickly during
busier times; early booking is recommended. Call for

Groceries:
Beano's Cabin welcomes families for an
unforgettable dining experience on the mountain and
offers special early-evening seatings. To say the dining experience is superb is an understatement. Guests are transported to this unique getaway
via snowcat-drawn, open-air sleigh. Beano's Cabin
is open to the public for dinner only with a fixed-price,
five-course menu; live entertainment is included.

In the village, kids love the pizza and calzones at The
Blue Moose. Toscanini, overlooking the ice rink,
serves excellent Italian cuisine and offers a special
kids' menu.

Tight:
Families love the ski-in/ski-out convenience of The
Charter at Beaver Creek. It is centrally located, has lodge rooms as well as condos and even has a spa!
The Inn at Beaver Creek is also a great choice for
families and is the closest lodging to a chairlift of any
ski resort property in North America (complimentary breakfast too).

Beaver Creek Sports has a complete Children's
Store which sells and rents kids' equipment. The
Children's Ski and Snowboard School also sells
kids' ski and snowboard clothing, helmets, and more.
The School rents skis, snowboards, boots and poles
to children enrolled in lessons.

Beaver Creek is all about family fun. Here's a sample:
Ice Skating- Kids and parents love ice skating on the
year-round outdoor rink in the center of Beaver
Creek Village. The rink is open 10 a.m.-9 p.m. daily
and offers skate rentals.
Snowshoeing - McCoy Park is the resort's unique
snowshoe and cross-country ski park located high on
the mountain. The park offers 32k of groomed and
backcountry trails. The Beaver Creek
Cross-Country, Snowshoe & Telemark Center rents
pint-sized Atlas snowshoes and offers a variety of
guided tours in the park. Each month the resort
holds a snowshoe race with 10k, 5k and 1 miles
races for all ages and abilities. Kids particularly like
the 100-yard "Dash for Cash".
Telemark Skiing -The resort offers special kids'-only
telemark ski workshops. The workshops provide a fun learning
environment for kids who want to "free-heel" it. |
