Spring Deals!!!
We
see it across the country. As the Crocuses come up, the boards get put away. NOT!
You are missing out on the joys of spring snow play. Sure the afternoons may get
a little slushy, but that corn snow makes up for it.
Corn snow, like creamy
butter, can be better than powder. A thin creamy layer over hard pack makes gliding
a piece of cake. And the weather? It doesn’t get any better than April. Extended
daylight, sunshine and empty slopes. Plus some great deals on lift tickets, lodging
and lesson packages.
Learn now. Why not? You
may think you will forget what you’ve learned come November, but the spring is
an excellent time to take up boarding or skiing. Or just to try some new skills.
Don’t wait to learn how to snowboard. Do it now. Catch a morning lesson – there
will be less people, the snow will be better and you can practice in the afternoon!
Look for multiple day lesson packages.
Lodging deals and finding a good
discount on hotels
abound in
the spring. You typically can get half off of rack rates, especially midweek.
Check our HOT Deals section for up to the minute packages. Kids stay & ski free and
sometimes fly free. Easter vacation? No problem, there’s still plenty of availability
at resorts across the country.
Some resorts are known
for their spring festivities. Tahoe rocks with several spring festivals. Heavenly’s
SpringLoaded Tour has got some great events including a cardboard box race, dummy
downhill and pond splash. Colorado's
Summit County embraces spring with all kinds of fun stuff. In the East, Easter
brings out crazy bonnets and the best conditions ever. See our calendar for a
listing of all the fun family events this spring.
Spring is a great time
to demo new gear. Manufacturers have new product out on the hill and in select
shops for demoing. Try some new skis or boards now to see what you want to buy
in the fall. Some shops even order product especially for you. For next season
look for some hot trends in adult and junior equipment. More twin tips, softer flexing boots, pint sized snowboards and some awesome technical outerwear. Test drive a super sidecut short ski
and be amazed! Or try your skill in the park with a twin tip.
These are just a few reasons
to get last licks on the slopes this spring. I think you’ll agree that spring
sliding can generate some quality family time that will last a lifetime. Let us
know your favorite reasons for spring sliding. Enjoy!
