Rippin' Rider Preview and Review
Cold as Ice
One
of our favorite outfits went out to Maggie, from Ellicottville, N.Y. Maggie rips
it up at Holiday Valley in New York. We loved Maggie's comments on her Rippin'
Rider form, "I would love to test anything, as long as it's not pink."
Pink it is not. Maggie's
Cold as Ice outfit is a great olive green and beige ensemble, totally rad and
came with a matching beanie.
The outfit is from Cold
as Ice's Stardust line. The Starlight Parka was matched with the Lady Bug Pant
and Starlight Hat.
We love Cold as Ice's attitude
about young riders.
Here's their description
of STARDUST. "From the first day on the hill, Stardust is designed for the young
rider who knows what's up, what's cool and what's not. Testing a hit. Soaring
through life. Laughing at challenge. Stardust is busting out. She can glide, she
can ride and she can ski. She's looking ahead."
Starlight Parka features
(moss):
Fleece lining
Roll-up 3-piece mountaineering hood with bungy fit adjustment
Super fly storm collar
Interior draw cord waist adjustment
Elastic and velcro cuff system
Brushed tricot chin guard
Utility hook and lift ticket holder
Reflective star applique <
Lady Bug Pant features
(moss):
Elastic back waistband w/ belt loop
Rubberized snow cuff
Utility hook - lift ticket holder
Side cargo pockets
Maggie
reports:
Functionality: very
lightweight for the warmth (have to have warmth in NY). Jacket is warmer than
the pants. It's not especially waterproof on wet days (but water repellent).
Improvements: Maggie
suggests a waterproof seat and knees for putting on snowboard bindings and hanging
out. Inside zip pockets would be nice for money.
Fit: The jacket
fits perfectly, pants are a hair short. Hat is REALLY cute.
Special features:
Snap hook for pass is handy.
How it's made: Fleece
lining is really nice and soft next to skin, color is great (doesn't show dirt),
textured
fabric
is nice looking and durable. (Ed. Note: has to be Mom speaking).
Two or More Seasons?
Yes, if she didn't grow out of it!
Where product is used:
At ski/snowboard resort (Holiday Valley, NY). People notice it, ask where
it came from. They like the color (olive green).
Cool Factor: Yes,
very cool. To make it even cooler Maggie suggested replacing the graded gray stripe
with a reflective tape…reflective is IN!
Would you buy it?
Yes, we would definitely consider buying a Cold as Ice outfit! As a matter
of fact we recommended it to the mountain's sport store.
