The Woodstock Inn & Resort Kicks Off the 2011
Ski Season with a Ski Free Program for Hotel Guests
Woodstock, Vermont
When I was a kid, we owned an old farmhouse with a bunch of other snow loving families. It was located in Plymouth Union, just down the road from Woodstock, Vermont. Most days we would pack the ski gear and head towards Killington, but on rare occasions we would stash the gear in the barn, get gussied up and head up the hill for a night out at the Woodstock Inn.
Just like a postcard, Woodstock depicts New England charm. White houses with twinkling lights, many with white candles in the windows and trees adorned with heirloom ornaments. I can only explain it with an "ahhh - to be home again".
Our huge group would gather around the fireplace for an annual photo. We would head to the dining room for an exquisite meal, then wander the grounds feeling jealous of the guests who would settle in for an evening around the piano singing Christmas carols. Classic holiday magic.
With record snowfall hitting the East Coast, The Woodstock Inn & Resort is kicking off the new year with a Ski Free Program for resort guests: adults ski free Sunday thru Thursday at the resort’s Suicide Six Ski Area or at the Nordic Center, which offers more than 60-kilometers of groomed cross country skiing, and kids ski free at both ski areas all the time (offer not available during holiday weekends and holiday weeks).
Sleeping accommodations in a luxurious guest room
Complimentary lift tickets to Suicide Six Family Ski Area
Free Pass to the Nordic Center offering more than 60 kilometers of groomed cross country skiing and snowshoeing
Complimentary use of The Resort's Racquet & Fitness Club including training equipment, indoor pool, steam room, sauna, and hot tub
Morning coffee and afternoon tea
Discounted equipment rentals at ski shops
This offer is available when purchasing any room rate or package. Suicide Six offers a downhill experience complete with rentals, lessons and a quaint lodge for après ski relaxation. Two chair lifts and a J-bar serve 23 trails. There is terrain for skiers of all levels- beginner, intermediate and expert.
For skiers looking to take on a larger mountain, Woodstock Inn & Resort is only twenty minutes from the Skyeship Express Gondola at Killington, the largest ski area in the East. Rates start at $336 per room which includes one night accommodation, country breakfast for two and Killington all-day ski pass for two. Rate is per room based on double occupancy for a standard Inn room and does not include tax and gratuity. Rate changes are based on room type and availability. Some nights require a minimum length of stay.
In September 2010, The Spa at The Woodstock Inn & Resort debuted, the first dedicated spa in the resort’s 218-year history. Housed in a 10,000 square-foot LEED-designed structure, The Spa, a $10 million new addition, provides a nature-inspired ambiance and is a celebration of the seasons, which carries through to the full spa menu. The spa offers a full array of unique treatments, steam room, a year-round outdoor courtyard with "hot" tub, sauna, and fireplace.
Along with the new spa, The Woodstock Inn & Resort provides guests with a number of recreational and dining options to enhance their stay. Guests can dine at The Red Rooster, the resort’s award-winning fine dining restaurant. Open for lunch and dinner the menu emphasizes fresh, local ingredients, including specialty cheeses, shellfish and heirloom fruits and vegetables, sourced from the best purveyors in New England. Guests can also enjoy downtown Woodstock filled with antique shops, art galleries, boutiques, restaurants, specialty food markets and more.
