Rippin' Riders Preview
Backhill - Great Board Gear
By T.
Thompson
Backhill
(a division of Burton) sent us some very cool stuff for the Rippin' Riders program.
We like Backhill's approach to sizing. Age determines size (more or less) and
products are easily marked (most are a little oversized for your baggy loving
youngster).
The Treeline jacket in
corn yellow, black and gunmetal, is definitely a defined as rad by the Rippin'
Rider crew. Packed full of features, we keep finding more daily. The shoulder
panels are abrasion resistant (notice how that area wears out quickly when carrying
sharp edged boards?). Drop tail with "100% Sit-Without-Soak" lining. It's got
articulated elbows, huge back pocket for "stuff", lots of other pockets, exterior
pass pocket (very cool), goggle pocket inside storm flap that you can get to without
unzipping the jacket and handwarmer pockets. The kids will never find anything
again.
More good stuff: pit zips,
waist gaiter, snap-off Face-Space hood, interior MD/MP3 pocket, glove loops (take
off glove, still have warm hands) and very cool colors!
Suggested retail on the
Treeline Jacket is $169.95
The Treeline Pant matches
the jacket in gunmetal and suggested retail is $159.95. They've got articulated
knees, bib that folds down to convert to pants, bib pocket with pass compartment,
Kickpatch panels to prevent rips, removable articulated kneepads, side vents,
side waist tabs for adjustability, waist gaiter anchor loops and handwarmer pockets!
There will be no complaining
on the snow in this outfit!
