Soda Springs created Planet Kids Snow Play program. Planet Kids is designed to encourage small children to play in the snow, is an affordable alternative for parents, so they can "test drive" snow recreation without committing to purchasing a chair lift ticket, and makes it a goal to create the feeling that when kids leave, they want to come back. For $10, young children can ride the inner-tube carousel, play on the Magic Carpet surface lift (operates like a moving sidewalk in an airport), and for $7, kids can drive the mini-snowmobiles (5mph maximum speed). It's a new approach to looking at mountain recreation in the winter, and parents have really grown to love it. It's the equivalent to the kiddie pool at a town swim facility: kids aren't ready for the adult pool or the deep end, so they start with something easy and digestible.
