There are a variety of free and fee-based places to play in the snow.

Mt. Rose, Mt. Rose
Highway (Hwy. 431). Undeveloped area 8 miles up. Bring your own equipment.
Spooner Summit -
Hwy 28, just off of Hwy 50 (about 9 miles south of Incline Village). Steep. Bring
your own equipment.
Tahoe City, Hwy 89
South, just past the Truckee River and the Y. Mellow slope with parking across
the street.

Boreal Mountain Resort,
10 miles west of Truckee, CA on I-80. (530) 426-3666. Snowplay area at west end
of parking lot. $12 saucer included.
Granlibakken
Ski Area, Tahoe City, CA (530) 581-7533. Saucers only. Fee. Rentals available.
Homewood Mountain Resort,
Homewood, CA (530) 525-2992. New Flying Saucer Snowplay area at South Base. Rental
saucers available for a fee.
Kingvale Tubing and Sledding
Center, West of Donner Summit on I-80 (Kingvale exit). (530) 426-7291. Sledding
hill $7 all day. Equipment provided. Tubing available, 2-hr. ticket is $10.
North Tahoe Regional
Park, Tahoe Vista (530) 546-7248. At the end of National Ave. Snow hill for
toboggans, saucers, inner tubes. Fee.
Northstar-at-Tahoe,
Hwy 267, Truckee. (530) 562-1010. Tow accessed tubing. Fee.
North Tahoe Regional
Park, off of Hwy 28 in Tahoe Vista, CA. Take National Ave. to the end. $3
parking charge.
Sierra-at-Tahoe,
2 miles west of South Lake Tahoe on Hwy 50. (530) 659-7453. Tubing at the back
of the parking area.
Soda Springs, off
of I-80 at Donner Summit. (530-426-3666). Kids (ages 7 and under)ski, snowshoe and sled for a fee.
Saucers included.
Sorenson's Resort,
Hwy 88, Hope Valley. (530) 694-2203. Rental equipment at no charge to guests.
Tahoe Donner, Truckee,
CA. (530) 587-9437. Snowplay area on driving range. $4. Age six and under is free.
