Tahoe Donner is small , but there's a lot going on. Mom and Dad can hang out at
the lodge and you can rip it up. We actually like Ski School!
For
Sanity's Sake: Tahoe
Donner is the quintessential family area. Focused on first time and beginner skiers/boarders,
the emphasis is on fun. Pack a picnic, enroll the kids in ski school, and get
on with enjoying your life! Get a $12 lift ticket with each Snowflakes package
purchased (specific days and times). Or take turns on the slopes with the interchangeable
ticket. One parent hangs out with the baby while the other skis!
KidzPoints:
"Kids learn free" program is
just that. Children 7-12 receive a free 90-minute ski or snowboard lesson with
the purchase of a full-price, all -day lift ticket (Tuesday through Thursday except
holidays). Classes are small with a limit of 6 students.
Where
to Ski: Tahoe Donner
is actually one big bowl with a backside and some tougher terrain off to skier's
right of the quad chairlift. Beginners should stay on the Mighty Mite tow or the
Snowbird double chairlift. More advanced skiers can head up the Eagle Rock quad.
Take various routes down The Bowl. There's some good intermediate terrain off
the backside, beware the Mile Run home.
Where
to Board: Boarding has
never been easier. Beginners will also enjoy the slight pitch of the Snowbird
Run. Get good and head to the terrain park off of Eagle Rock. Or try some trees
and powder over the side.
Special
Programs: "Kids
Learn Free" program - Tuesday through Thursday children 7-12 get free lessons with
lift ticket.
Snowflakes Ski School is
for children ages 3-6. Click

Child
Care: No on site child
care for those under 3. Think about the parent interchangeable ticket.
Good
Groceries: Tahoe Donner
has a great lodge for meeting up with your family. Grab breakfast or lunch in
the cafeteria. The snack bar and taco stand are also big hits with the kids. The
Lounge offers a full bar.
