Catch a ride on the Hot Wheels Triple Chair to check out one of the coolest treasures at Alpine: Hot Wheels Gully. A natural halfpipe dotted with trees, banked turns with walls that measure 30' high, this cool gully blows all machine-made halfpipes away! Mini skiers and riders are stoked when they can grab a ride on the Tiegel Poma, located just steps from the base lodge. This surface lift access the Tiegel Mini Terrain Park, which offers a variety of pint-sized rails, funboxes, miniature jumps, and banked turns. Ready for the Roundhouse High Speed Quad? The Banana Chute is also a favorite, and is located under the chair about half-way up the mountain. This short chute opens up onto the groomed, Sandy’s Corner, which returns intermediate+ skiers and riders to the base lodge.
For
Sanity's Sake:
With a base lodge that has just finished its 2nd phase of interior remodel, the Alpine Meadows base lodge is a great central meeting point for families. Equipped with restaurants, ticket windows, ski and snowboard rentals and high performance demos, a newly remodeled retail shop, necessities of every kind can be found in the base lodge. Amenities include a newly remodeled retail shop, a parent zone where small children can play with a huge variety of toys, quiet sitting areas for new parents, and a warm, cozy fireplace area which makes for a great hot cocoa meeting place.
KidzPoints:
Parent Interchangeable lift tickets make skiing and riding easy for moms and dads. One ticket can be shared by two parents, which leaves the option for one to hang out with small children while the other hits the slopes. The parent interchangeable ticket is the same price as an adult full day lift ticket. Kids ages 5 or 6 who are ready to learn to ski can sign up with the Little Mountaineers Club for either a full or half day of lessons, snow and indoor play, and a great chance to experience social interaction with others their own age. Ages 7-12 of any ability level can sign up for Junior Mountaineers and cruise the mountain with others matched in ability, and learn from some of Tahoe’s best kids teachers and coaches.
