BULA! BULA! Hot lids for cool days...
Hat fashion for toddlers, kids and youth
Bula was founded in 1983 by three young snow addicts laying-over in Fiji after a summer snow chase to New Zealand. On the island, the three friends were greeted traditionally by the natives: "BULA! BULA!". The spirit of this greeting (Translation: "life, health, happiness") combined with their own sense of no holds barred fun, inspired a winter hat company. Over the years Bula has been an inspiration of colors, designs and materials. The trend continues with new products and designs this year.
You'll see lots of lids on the snow this season. The youth movement has inspired such trends as: wide earbands, peak hats and Peruvians (hats with earflaps and cords). Colors are brighter and bolder complimented by silk screened logos and graphic applications.
We've pictured some of our favorites. But there are plenty more out there.
Bula's Chunky's will be hot this season. Bula is the only company (that we know of) featuring a line of Chunky's beanies for kids. Chunky knit hats (made from your grandma's chunky yarns) have crossed into the mainstream with lifestyle/streetwear and consumers are looking to the outdoor sports industries for the coolest styles. Peruvians and the kid's double-layered fabric beanies offer the extra warmth and great value. Pictured is the Peruvian Polar Bear Beanie - a favorite with toddlers. Don't you just love the little polar bear?
Bula is also the leading brand in sublimation. Sub-la what? Through the process of sublimation (a special heat sensitive transfer) custom illustrations are directly applied and absorbed into the beanie fabric resulting in a softer feel than that of silkscreening. The pink Ice beanie in pink is very cool and "oh so soft!".
A favorite with our crew is the "Name Game" beanie. It as Velcro tabs so you can exchange letters to spell any four letter word (uh oh). The whole alphabet is included. In acrylic, the beanie comes in a variety of colors.
So have your little rippers get fashionable on and off the slopes in Bula. "BULA! BULA!"
